To support and further develop business relations between Australia and Italy, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia inc. is honoured to announce the appointment of John Barilaro as board member.
Previously Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Industry and Trade for the Parliament of New South Wales, Barilaro is joining a board composed by relevant players in the Australian market such as Enel Green Power, Intesa Sanpaolo, Luxottica and Prysmian Group; his expertise and know-how will be critical in further expanding the Chamber’s activities and its drive to excel.
“As the world reopens post COVID, global partnerships will be important for future bilateral opportunities – Italy has always been a powerhouse economy, and ICCIAUS will continue to play an important concierge role. I’m honoured to have been appointed to the board and I look forward to playing a role in building stronger relationships” said John.
First elected to the NSW Parliament in 2011, Minister from 2014 and Deputy Premier from 2016, John’s expertise in the political field and his vision in defining long term policy for an array of sectors, as well as his reputation as an innovator, will represent a great asset for the Italian Chamber in its mission to gather the most significant Italian companies and representatives to create and build long-lasting and productive links with local industries and the Australian Government.
His skills as businessman, combined with his ability to deliver high impact transformations, will also be relevant to boost the Chamber’s services and its role in promoting locally the Made in Italy as well as Australian entrepreneurship and enterprises into the Bel Paese.
“Thanks to his insights we will be able to be even more agile in our relationships with Government and deepen our understanding around local dynamics that can be put to good use on behalf of our Members and institutional partners”, said
Rachele Grassi, ICCIAUS CEO, welcoming and celebrating his appointment that for now covers a vacancy and will be ratified at the next AGM.
