Emma and Angelo join the Marco Polo Team

The Marco Polo – The Italian School of Sydney is thrilled to begin a new year of Italian classes for 2023 in Bossley Park. Marco Polo is a key provider of Italian language and culture classes for school-aged and adult students in South Western Sydney, known for its high-quality teaching, welcoming environment and connections to the community at a grassroot level.

This year, the school is expanding its team with two new young and passionate teachers who bring an authentic passion for Italian and a wealth of knowledge to the school. Emma and Angelo are both locals from the South-West of Sydney, and they have a deep connection to their Italian heritage.

Emma was educated at Cerdon College, Merrylands and in 2020 won the Marco Polo Award for Excellence in Italian Language and Culture. Angelo is an Old Boy of Patrician Brothers’ College, Fairfield. Both have learnt Italian at a very young age, having then perfected their mastery of the language throughout high-school, where they studied Italian Continuers and Extension, at University and through a number of cultural immersions in Italy.

Emma and Angelo are committed to academic and cultural excellence, eager to share their love for all things Italian with their students. Emma’s studies and experience in teaching to people of different ages and socio- economic backgrounds make her a wonderful addition to the school’s focus on young children learning Italian and rediscovering their heritage. Angelo, on the other hand, has a natural aptitude for linguistics and the mechanics of the Italian language, coupled with a desire for helping students learn Italian in a fun and engaging way.

The Italian classes at the Marco Polo School cater to students of all levels, from absolute beginners to those who are fluent in the language. The school offers a range of courses to suit different needs, from intensive courses to leisure classes, and from individual classes to group classes with a projection to achieving the CILS Examination administered by the University of Siena.

The curriculum is designed to be accessible, interactive and practical, and the teachers use a variety of teaching methods to make the learning experience enjoyable and can be applied to a range of real-life scenarios. “The Marco Polo – The Italian School of Sydney is the perfect place for anyone who wants to learn Italian in a supportive and friendly environment.

With the addition of Emma and Angelo to the team, the school is set to provide an even better learning experience for its students in 2023,” said Maria Tripodi, longtime teacher at the Marco Polo and CNA Board Member. In addition to language classes, in 2023 the teaching and support staff at Marco Polo will continue to offer a range of cultural activities and events, including movie days, culture days and language days.

These activities are designed to complement the language classes and help students immerse themselves in Italian culture, while fostering a connection between generations of italian-australians within the language-speaking community.
