Italian Hostages in Gaza: Diplomatic Efforts Intensify for Their Release

In a crucial development, Italian diplomacy is working tirelessly to secure the release of 10 to 12 of its citizens living in the strife-torn Gaza Strip. This determination to ensure the safe return of its citizens was underscored by Italy’s Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, in a statement to Isoradio Rai.

“Our foremost priority is to prevent any Italian nationals from becoming embroiled in this conflict,” Minister Tajani emphasized. “That’s why we’ve already repatriated over a thousand pilgrims and tourists who were in Israel,” he added.

Minister Tajani further stressed, “Our top concern is the safety and liberation of the hostages.”

Continuing Italy’s diplomatic efforts to secure the release of Italian hostages held by Hamas or other affiliated groups, Minister Tajani revealed, “Today, we will meet with the King of Jordan and his Foreign Minister, seeking their support. Through our diplomatic channels with Arab nations, we are leaving no stone unturned to convey a strong message to Hamas in favor of hostage liberation.”

Among the hostages, there are three Italians – a married couple and a young man who was attending a rave event. Minister Tajani assured, “Naturally, we are working diligently to secure the freedom of all these hostages through diplomatic means.”

Italy remains committed to the safety and well-being of its citizens, and these diplomatic efforts underscore its dedication to this cause.
