Marco Polo – The Italian School of Sydney has proudly taken the third prize in the highly competitive 2024 Creative Arts Competition (Short Film) organised by the NSW Federation of Community Language Schools (FCLS). This annual competition celebrates the artistic talents of students across New South Wales, and the Marco Polo students’ achievement is a testament to their dedication and creativity.
With high standards across the board, this year’s competition saw numerous entries from language schools throughout the region, each showcasing exceptional work. The short film by Marco Polo students captured the judges’ attention and stood out among many impressive entries, highlighting the school’s commitment to promoting Italian language and culture through innovative education.
President of NSW FCLS., Lúcia Johns, extended her congratulations to the students and teachers of Marco Polo. “This achievement reflects the commitment and creativity of both the students and educators at Marco Polo – The Italian School of Sydney,” said Ms Johns. “We are incredibly proud of the students’ accomplishments and the dedication of their teachers. Their work is a testament to the value of community language schools in fostering linguistic and cultural pride.”
The winning students are invited to attend a prize-giving ceremony on Saturday, 23 November 2024, at the Grand Ballroom in Bankstown Sports Club. They will have the honour of presenting their framed artwork to special guests and capturing a memorable moment with VIPs present. Students are welcome to attend in traditional attire if they wish, adding a touch of cultural pride to the evening’s celebrations.
