Volunteers’ Honour in Fairfield

Fairfield City held the Australia Day Community Awards and Citizenship Ceremony on the Public Holiday at Aquatopia in Prairiewood. Fairfield City Mayor, Frank Carbone Chris Bowen and a slew of special guests from every tier of government joined together to honour volunteers who have contributed to the community.

Among those acknowledged was athlete Luke Tiberti, Leader of Bonnyrigg Library Knitting group, Rachel Versace and Founder of the Italian Language and Culture Group, Alberto Macchione. The latter two were recognised in the volunteer of the year category.

Mayor Frank Carbone set out to “acknowledge the great contribution that many people make to our community.

This year we had 21 nominations for community awards who reflect dedication and commitment and help make our community a great place to live.”
