Italian vocal group Mezzotono made its Australian debut at the Sydney Conservatorium’s Verbrugghen Hall, presented by the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney. The concert marked the ensemble’s only Australian performance on its international tour.
After 23 years of touring across more than 70 countries, the five singers brought their distinctive blend of vocal harmonies, comedy and audience participation to Australia. Performing entirely without instruments, they recreated melodies, bass lines and percussion using only their voices.
From Mambo Italiano and Quando Quando Quando to Neapolitan favourites and international hits, the programme celebrated the versatility of the human voice. Encores including Mah Nà Mah Nà and Volare rounded off an unforgettable debut.
