Zangari gets lucky charm out for Euro 2020

A colourful video featuring Italian Australian and Fairfield State MP Guy Zangari is now catching likes on social media.

Surrounded by a collection of framed shirts from Juventus and the Italian National soccer team, Mr Zangari goes through the essential tool kit of the perfect Italian soccer fan, including “a coffee before the coffee” and the “corno” – a traditional lucky charm against the malocchio, the evil eye.

“As the clock ticks over towards 5am AEST Wednesday 7th July, I thought I would share just a quick message to all the Italian-Australian community in Greater Sydney to lift up some spirits,” said Guy Zangari.

“As football loving fans we would either be usually congregating at local clubs, bars, restaurants or at home with family and friends to watch the mighty Azzurri play. Due to the Covid-19 lockdown we are confined to watching the game at home with immediate family,” added Mr Zangari.

“The UEFA Euro 2020 Semi Final is a massive game for both Italy and Spain. The winner advancing to the Final to face either England or Denmark. So for the first semi final our much beloved Spanish friends will become our enemies for only ninety minutes, I am sure they will be feeling the same about Italy.

Wherever you watch the game and whatever your pre-game ritual I wish you all well,” concluded the Fairfield MP.
