Adelaide’s Italian community gathered in festive spirit on Wednesday, 16 July, as the highly anticipated 2025 Adelaide Italian Festival poster was officially launched at the Altavilla Club. The event signaled the beginning of a journey toward the annual celebration of Italian culture, scheduled to take place across the city from 7 to 16 November.
The launch event drew a lively crowd made up of community members, festival organisers, and local dignitaries. Among the notable speakers were Festival President Gina Marchetti, Treasurer Dr Phillip Donato OAM, and Cressida O’Hanlon MP, who each reiterated the festival’s central themes: honouring tradition, celebrating generational diversity, and strengthening the ties that bind Adelaide’s Italian-Australian community.
The unveiling of the 2025 festival poster was a highlight of the evening. Introduced by creative director Adam Ross and the Village Gate team, the new artwork reflects a bold creative direction for this year’s festivities, with a strong focus on showcasing the richness and vibrancy of modern Italian identity in Australia.
Organisers emphasised that this year’s festival aims not only to pay homage to the enduring customs and values of Italian heritage but also to spotlight the next generation and the evolving multicultural tapestry that continues to shape the local Italian community.
Festival planning is already in full swing, with open-access event applications welcomed from individuals and groups interested in participating. The ten-day program in November will feature signature events that celebrate Italy’s culture, cuisine, art, and family traditions, inviting all South Australians to take part in what has become one of the state’s most beloved cultural occasions.
