Don’t Miss The Great Recital!

Il Coro Dei Piccoli Presents ‘The Great Recital!’ The Great recital is a magical musical showcase set to enlighten the hearts and spirits of all ages.

The Concert, designed for children and can be enjoyed by children, parents and Nonni of all ages is Imagined, developed and designed by Australia’s greatest Italian theatrical arts house, Cavalieri Santo Crisafulli and the Bottega Art Teatrale.

The production is inspired by the famous Italian song competition ‘Zecchino d’Oro’. For those unaware, ‘Zecchino d’Oro’ is a long running Italian children’s song competition. It can be likened to a San Remo Song Competition for children. The competition has gained such cultural significance that in April 2008 it received from the UNESCO club (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the recognition of: “Heritage For A Culture of Peace”.

Zecchino d’Oro was established in 1959 by Niny Comoll for singers aged 4 to 10 and broadcast internationally on Rai 1. Author Roberto Marcora wrote of Niny Comoli, that she was someone “who put music as (an exclamation, throughout)  her life, has also opened this magical art to children”.

The same can be said for Cavilerie Santo Crisafulli who has championed not only the wonderful writings, costumes and performance pieces of Italian history and brought them to life, but has also given opportunities for culturally significant music to be performed live.

On what may be Santo’s swan song (never say never), Santo has brought a slice of Italy’s contemporary culture to the lucky families who will participate and be in the audience.

The Performance will feature Lina Sacco, Lydia Donato, Kayla Cagnola, Rappers Alice D’Amato, Vittoria Testolin and Cavilieri. Santo Crisafulli will also star. Local musical superstars Michael Gioelli and Sarah Arnold will add their astonishing vocal ranges to the spectacular also.

The audience can expect fun, fantastic and famous songs such as Ma che Pizza (What a Pizza), Letter to Pinocchio, Dimmi Ciao, Scuola Rap (Rap School) and È un Mondo Piccolo (It’s A Small World After All).

Il Coro dei Piccoli (The Children’s Choir) will perform for two shows only at the Italian Forum Cultural Centre, Leichhardt, Sydney NSW on Saturday 2nd November at 7:30pm and Sunday November 3rd at 2:30pm in a program not be missed!
