Silverdale came alive with horsepower and community spirit as it hosted the inaugural Silverdale Cars & Coffee, drawing more than 200 cars and hundreds of visitors.
The initiative was the brainchild of Michelle, the event’s founder and organiser, supported by Bruno Lopreiato, President of CNA Multicultural Services Inc., who praised the occasion as a vibrant new chapter for the local area.
“There are so many car enthusiasts in this region, and we wanted to create something local, something positive for the community,” Michelle explained. “We used to meet in the mornings at Warragamba, but with the new Silverdale Shopping Centre, this became the perfect location for an evening event.”
The line-up was as diverse as it was impressive: from vintage classics to muscle cars, hot rods, and the latest Japanese and American models. Among the highlights was Kane’s brand-new 2024 Corvette C8, the first right-hand drive Corvette, boasting a near-500 horsepower LT2 engine. “Mine is a convertible with an electric hardtop,” Kane noted proudly. “It arrived straight from the United States last year.”
Crowds also admired Gary’s beautifully restored 1953 Chevrolet pickup, the result of years of dedication, and Brad’s extraordinary custom car, equipped with nitrous oxide and capable of producing a staggering 1,700 horsepower. “I’ve always loved cars,” Brad said with a grin. “Building them is my passion.”
But the event was not only about cars. It also carried a strong social dimension, featuring local disability support associations and a community barbecue that brought people together in true festive spirit. Families mingled, children enjoyed the spectacle, and attention turned to the future with the announcement of a new Italian restaurant opening soon at the shopping centre. “I want to bring something special to Silverdale,” said chef Giovanni. “A place where families can gather.”
With its winning mix of passion, diversity, and community, the debut of Silverdale Cars & Coffee firmly established the town as an emerging hub for car lovers, local culture, and shared experiences.
