Italian Community Television (ICTV) marked a successful end to November 2025 with Italian Day TV, a vibrant cultural event held at the iconic Preston Market in Melbourne. The initiative celebrated Italian creativity, community spirit and local media, drawing strong interest from shoppers and visitors throughout the morning.
The event was organised by Italian Community Television for Channel 31 and Mediasud, with Maria Luisa Lo Monte serving as artistic director and presenter. It was attended by Tom Padula, Honorary President of ICTV, who praised both the organisation and the enthusiasm of all those involved.
“It was a very successful morning activity,” Padula said. “The new ICTV Committee has worked extremely hard throughout 2025 to strengthen our television contribution, introducing new programs and series. I look forward to seeing what can be achieved in 2026 with this level of energy and teamwork.”
The success of Italian Day TV was made possible through the professional commitment of many contributors, including members of the ICTV committee, stylists, models, performers, cameramen and photographers. Special acknowledgment was given to Preston Market’s marketing manager, Natasha, and her team, whose support was instrumental, as well as to the local businesses that generously donated prizes for the raffle.
Adding to the community atmosphere, many of the photographs from the day were taken by members of the public, capturing the spontaneity and warmth of the event. These images reflect the strong engagement of the local Italian and multicultural community with the initiative.
Maria Luisa Lo Monte is currently in Italy, where she continues to contribute to ICTV through her involvement with Italian television channels. Further developments and programming updates are expected to be announced in the new year. Italian Community Television extends its best wishes to the community for the festive season.
