BREAKING NEWS | Man rushed to hospital after reported shark attack north of Geraldton

A man in his 50s has been rushed to hospital in priority-one condition after a reported shark attack at Glenfield Beach, north of Geraldton in Western Australia’s Midwest. Authorities are responding to the incident, which was reported shortly before 10am on Monday.

Emergency services have responded to a reported shark incident at Glenfield Beach, about 430 kilometres north of Perth.

Western Australia’s Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development confirmed the incident was reported at about 9:45am, with fisheries officers working alongside local authorities at the scene.

St John Ambulance said two crews were dispatched to the beach at about 9:50am.

A man aged in his 50s was transported to Geraldton Hospital under priority-one conditions.

At this stage, authorities have not released further details about the nature or extent of his injuries, nor confirmed the species of shark involved.
