Quiz, Laughter and Flair at the Circolo Italiano’s Night

The Circolo Italiano di Wellington hosted a lively and entertaining quiz night titled “From the Alps to Lampedusa: Mapping Italy” at Garibaldi House. The event brought together members of Circolo Italiano, Club Garibaldi, friends, and class teams for an evening of fun, camaraderie, and Italian culture.

Teams of five competed in a variety of rounds that tested knowledge of Italy’s geography, history, culture, and iconic symbols. From recognizing the outline of Italy compared to New Zealand to identifying clues from Italy’s famous landmarks and sports events, participants were challenged at every turn.

The quiz format encouraged teamwork and discussion, and the room was buzzing with excitement and friendly rivalry. Congratulations to the winning team, who displayed remarkable knowledge and strategy, as well as the runners-up, who were not far behind. All participants enjoyed drinks and a delicious supper provided at the venue, making the night as much about social connection as competition.

Some photos from the evening capture the energy, laughter, and moments of triumph, highlighting how shared learning and play can bring a community closer together. The Circolo Italiano continues to be a vibrant hub for those interested in Italian language, culture, and friendship in Wellington.

Looking ahead, the next Meet Italy! event is set for Made in Italia Day on Thursday, 16th April 2026. This promises to be another engaging evening, celebrating Italian craftsmanship, culinary delights, and creativity.
